Articulation Disorder
Articulation is a speech disorder in which a person feels difficulty in articulating the specific sounds. Children generally use a phonological process to produce sound patterns. Due to the Articulation problem, some children will not be able to spell or talk properly. If a child is not able to provide the pronounciation with the right word, then Audiologists will give few speech techniques which will help the child to articulate the words which have been missing. Speech problems might includes substitutions, omissions, additions or distortions of the words and sentences. It is the most common problem seen in children.
About 10-15% of pre-schoolers and 6% of school-age children have articulation problem. There is a difficulty in articulating the sounds and also in slurring of the speech. It was observed that many people find a lot of difficulty in pronouncing their native language.
